Spring Break, EOG books, etc...

A couple quick notes, EOG books went home yesterday. There are 3 books. One is general practice (the big one), one is grammar and mechanics (the shiny little one) and one contains complete pre-tests (the newsprint one). Please have your student work in order in the books, beginning with the big one. I will administer one of the pretests to all students in class after spring break and then we will review them all in class,  along with the state released pre-test we've already taken. I will accept work in these books for homework, but students must correct their work in class and show me that they worked 30 minutes on it. (I will put answer keys in class). I also want them to highlight answers only (not whole passages or what they think is "important") and take notes in the margins of the reading. We will go over what I want them to do in more detail after the break.

If you did not order books and would like to order them for your student, here is the link:

I was able to order a few extra books thanks to generous donations. I will distribute them to students in need. I cannot sell them to parents who would like to buy them. They are already paid for and are ear-marked for students who cannot pay for them, please try to understand this. If I sell them, I would need to order new ones. I do not have enough to give every student who wants one a book. I will give them to students who I believe will, based on past experience and homework grades, do the work in the books, check them and benefit from the work. Thanks so much to all who helped.

I hope everyone enjoyed the picnic today. I was at home working with Henry (my son) on some college stuff.  I can't believe he'll be away at a big university next August! Sorry I missed it, I know you all had a blast!

Thursday is a half day, we release at 11:45, please be sure to pick your student up on time so we can all enjoy Easter break! I wish you all a peaceful, restful and blessed holiday.
