Week of March 11

We have a very busy week on tap at Neuse Charter! Let’s get right to it!

Monday: Open House from 6:00-8:00 p.m. This event begins in the gym and then teachers will go to their classrooms to meet potential families to NCS next year. If you have any friends or family that have been considering looking into our school, please invite them to come out Monday night and take a look around!

Tuesday: Book Report #3 is due. This one is an auto/biography. The format I am looking for in on the blog under “pages.” Students should be sure to use vocabulary words from this year in their review. The project is a narrative, or epic, poem that explores their person’s life. There should be a good mixture of facts and creativity in the poem. No more than 8 stanzas, with 8-10 lines per. Students should also bring in an artistic representation of their person, sculpture, painting, drawing or whatever! It can be abstract or literal. 

Tuesday is also the night of the basket auction, be sure to come out to NCS for this fun yearly event!

We will also have a Talent Show rehearsal on Tuesday after school. Tickets are on sale. If you plan to come, please by tickets beforehand, as the door will get backed up the night of the show. They are $4 for adults and $2 for students

Wednesday: Black History Wax Museum! Please come and see your student’s interpretation of an influential black American. Students should wear costumes and bring props, but no makeup please. Times:

4A: 8:45-9:45

4B 2:00-3:00

4C 10:30-11:30

Thursday: Talent Show dress rehearsal. Students will be done around 4:30-4:45

Also 2013-14 NCS Lottery, held in the gym at 6:00

Friday: Talent Show!!!! Please come support our wonderfully talented students and staff! We will also enjoy the Bluegrass styling’s of Mr. Al Batten! http://www.bluegrassreunion.com/

This is an event not to be missed! 

In addition to all this, we will have class! We will read Langston Hughes this week, write persuasive essays and finish up center work! Whew! I’m already tired!
