Hello everyone! One more (4 day) week before spring break! I am ready for some rest and relaxation, as I'm sure you all are! This will be an exciting week at Neuse Charter, as our SACS visit will take place this week.
In class this week, we will continue with review, centers, and DEAR time. Students should bring their Competitive Edge books with them to class everyday, as we are selecting focus skills to discuss and review. Centers are designed to reinforce and introduce Language Arts and reading skills. Students will be writing persuasive arguments and letters to the editor. There will be no vocabulary this week, although we are continuing to search for and decode words from our DEAR books. Students are keeping a log of unknown vocab in their composition books to learn and use. Please make sure your student has the book they plan to use for the final book project.
Competitive Edge Homework for this week: pages 163-184, Practice Test 1: Remember to highlight answers!!!!!!
Speaking of which, I added a page of ideas for creative and fun project ideas!
Check them out!
The SACS committee will be visiting our school this week. We have all been working very diligently to prepare for this visit. Mrs. Vassar has been spearheading the effort and has put in many long hours to help prepare. Please be sure and give her a big "Thanks for all you do" when you see her.
